Apostle Alexander & Dr. Marty Alexander

Pastor & Founder

Apostle Henry B. Alexander, Ph. D., D. D., M. Div., B. Th., B.A. is thePresiding Prelate and founder of the Shield of Faith Fellowship ofChurches, International, Inc. and the pastor and founder of the Shield ofFaith Christian Center. Apostle Alexander has been blessed of God to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in cities and congregations across the United States and around the world.

Apostle Alexander founded the local Pomona congregation in 1981and it has grown to a committed membership of more than 1,000. He established the fellowship of churches in 1994. Bishop Alexander was saved under the ministry of Bishop James A. Johnson atBethesda Temple Church in St. Louis, Missouri and mentored in ministry under the late Bishop Robert W. McMurray at Bethany Community Church of Los Angeles. His ministry was ultimately shaped under the pastorate of his father, Elder Arling M. Alexander. He was first ordained as an elder in the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World in March 1981. Apostle Alexander married his wife, Dr. Marty Alexander who is also an ordained pastor, June 10, 1972. They are the parents of Stephanie, Aaron, Roslyn Jefferson, foster-daughter Gladys Brockington and grandparents to a Eric Nathan Alexander-Hughes, Erin Alexander, Hannah Alexander, and Cherokee, Cheyenne and Cree Jefferson.

From Apostle Alexander’s ministry in the Pomona church many pastors and churches have emerged – Bishop Rick Johnson (Shield of Faith Pasadena), Bishop Arling Alexander, Jr. (Shield of Faith Long Beach), Pastor Lawrence Pate (Lighthouse Apostolic Church, Rialto), Pastor David Burr (Higher Ground Christian Fellowship, Chino), Pastor Robert Walker (Shield of Faith, Covina), Pastor Patricia Wheaton (New Life Church, Ontario), Pastor Marvin Belle (Ontario), Pastor Bobbie Jimenez (Rancho Cucamonga), Pastor Emeree Patterson (Rialto) and Pastor Kenneth Rich of Oklahoma.

Called to serve as a father to the Body of Christ and a mentor to young pastors and churches in the United States and around the world, Apostle Alexander is keenly aware of the restoration work that God is doing in bringing the church back to its biblical foundations. Because of this, he has traveled the world, especially through Europe and Africa bringing doctrinal restoration and unity to the Body of Christ. The anointing on his life enables pastors to make changes in their churches, bringing many to a sounder biblically-sound foundation for the doctrines and practices of their congregations. More than a thousand pastors have been drawn to the call of God upon his life and God is mightily at work within the Shield of Faith Fellowship worldwide.
